Vases are often made with the wood grain oriented vertically. All of the vases except the buckeye burl and mesquite burl have the grain oriented vertically. Burls are well suited for natural edge vases. The walls of the Norfolk Island pine vase in the second row were thin enough to be translucent when the vase was finished with a penetrating tung oil finish.
Photographs of new vases will be added later in the year.
