We started making low profile bottle stoppers after several shoppers at our booth at craft shows commented that a wine bottle with a standard bottle stopper was too tall to conveniently fit in their refrigerator. The low profile bottle stoppers have a cork stopper that is recessed inside a turned wooden cap (see 1st image below). The total stopper adds about half an inch to the height of a bottle.
